Plaza Point - Affordable Senior Living
Overview
Plaza Point is a three-story, mixed-use development that will provide twenty-nine units of affordable housing for seniors on the second and third floors, and market-rate commercial spaces on the first floor. The project will achieve multiple green building certifications, including LEED for Homes - Platinum.
Plaza Point will be located at 789 I Street in Arcata, CA. The property is one block from the Plaza and directly across the street from the North Coast Co-Op.
Construction on Plaza Point began in May of 2011 and will be complete by April 2012. Accepted applicants will be able to move in during March and April 2012.

Eligibility
To be eligible to live at Plaza Point, you must be a senior citizen and meet certain income-level restrictions. Income levels are measured as a percentage of AMI, the Area Median Income. Tenants must have an income level at or less than a certain percentage of AMI. Those percentages and corresponding rent levels can be seen by clicking here.
Project Funding
Plaza Point is made possible through a unique collaboration between Danco Communities, Community Revitalization & Development Corporation, Danco Builders Northwest, USDA Rural Development, the HOME Investment Partnership Program, the City of Arcata, Umpqua Bank, Boston Financial Investment Management, and the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee.
